So we’re going to rebuild the military (I wasn’t under the impression that there was anything wrong, personally) but we’re going to use money that could be invested in something productive on a parade. I understand this logic completely.

You know, I’m not really a fan of politics on Oppo, but I think you’d find me far more liberal than most Conservatives. I would say I am fiscally conservative, but support most liberal and even some NDP platforms. The Ford type of conservatism scares the shit of out me.
If there was an election tomorrow? I’d vote Sheer, mostly because JT really irritates me. But I’d be cool with the NDP winning too.

I’d probably agree on spending less,In fact i’m kind of scared because under the new Mexico City(which works as a state) constitution boroughs will be allowed to endebt themselves (something that they can’t do today)
But on taxes, I’d probably make it way more complex than it is now to shift the burden to the rich, the wasteful, and the unreasonable rather than the poor.... granted our most expensive rate for income is only 35%

I voted for JT, but I wouldn’t vote for him again. I wanted electoral reform because first past the post is a dumb system, but that got nixed pretty quickly.
I think the worst thing a person can do is shoehorn themselves into a single party. All it does is lead to people not critically looking at platforms.

I’m a social conservative, but am a Keynesian, which pretty much means I’m not allowed to be a republican.
That said, I loathe the Cheeto in Chief. Probably one of the only electable person in the country who could have gotten me to vote for Hillary (I don’t think she’s ever actually murdered anyone, but that’s not because she has any ethical problems with it).

Veteran here and I have three words. Fuck. That. Shit. The two times I had parade duty, it was the worst. Luckily I suffered a heat injury during the second one. The closest thing to a parade that I go to is a cruise night.
I’m ultra liberal though, so it could be that I just hate my country. That was a joke not a sarcastic remark directed at anyone here. I love my country and spent six years in uniform, and would do it all over again.

I’m probably a moderate, with the liberal leanings on social issues and conservative leanings on fiscal issues. I’m in California, so I see how terrible overly-liberal people are. And, since I’m not blind to national news, I see what the Republicans have become.
I blame the uptick in conservative talk radio over the last 2 decades for America electing this person. They use people’s anger and project this air of self-importance as a way to communicate politics and beliefs. It’s the same thing he does. There is no sense of civility in the current political climate of arrogance and indignation, which is a reflection of those who elected this current person in office.
